So Friday I am laying on the couch and my 2.5 year-old-son comes bounding in to the living room with a penny in his mouth. I am like, "yuck, take that out of your mouth right now." And as he is going through this huge naughty streak right now he just laughed at me and giggled as he ran off. Me, being pregnant and not wanting to chase him, just let him go. Well, not 2 minutes later he comes crying for me telling me that he had swallowed the penny! Oh great, I am thinking, another trip to the emergency room. Before hitting full panic mode, I do what I always do when I have a question, I hook up to the internet and I see what other people have done in a similar situation. I read a lot of responses that say emergency room and x-rays, but then a lot say as long as the child is breathing and can eat and drink it's okay to wait it out and see if he will pass the penny. Well not one minute after this whole incident my son is smiling and laughing, back to playing with his sister, acting like no problem, so I'm thinking well either he didn't actually swallow it or maybe I should save myself $300 and just wait this one out and see what happens. So I go about my business carefully eyeing him for any signs there might be a penny stuck in his esophagus. Well, in case you were wondering, 3 days later (it's Monday) my son pooped his diaper (finally) and wouldn't you know.....I fished through it and found a shiny penny. Thank goodness!

Fish On!
The Hubby caught the "big one" this past weekend at the Metolius River. He went with his fishing buddy, Dave H. You know, I'm sure guys dream about all sorts of things that I won't go into but mine seems to only dream about FISH.......which I guess is a good thing. We sure have switched roles. Normally I am the one with totally vivid dreams who wakes up still completely lost in my dream and shouting something nonsensical. But not so much lately. My Hubby hit me with his arm in bed the other night and said, "Here take this anchor." I'm like okay honey......no problem. ...playing along......Snooze.......

"Hubby" here, the top picture is a 28" long bull trout, I caught it on a fly that I tied, the construction of which will remain a secret. Go ahead and try, you will never find out. The bottom picture is from this winter when I caught my first bull trout, man I love fishing. I really don't know what I was dreaming about the other night, must have been good though if I had my wife pulling up the anchor while I fished.
