This year was our first year yurting at Wallowa Lake instead of the coast. We really had a good time. To start with, the yurt was extra nice, a newer one, so the accomodations were great. We did a fair amount of hiking in the Wallowas and the scenery is so beautiful! I was impressed that even our two oldest ones hiked quite a few miles without complaining. They were loving the great outdoors. Even the little Goobie wanted to hike and she did for awhile until we scooped her up in the backpack because she was slowing us down. We managed to fit both of our oldest kids' bikes into our minivan along with our other camping stuff and they had fun riding around the campground. I think that is one of the biggest changes I have noticed. Camping is becoming a little bit more fun for me now that our kids aren't all babies. The two oldest could branch out a little bit and entertain themselves and so bringing the bikes was a huge hit. We also brought Sweet Boy's remote controlled monster truck and he played with that all around the campground. Sweet Boy and Grace both caught their first fish - a rainbow trout. We cooked it up and it was yummy! Mommy made some dutch oven meals - potatoes with chilli and cheese and then we tried to make brownies.....they were good but a little gooey. I think we'll have to make this family vacation one of our new traditions.

The reunion really was a lot of fun. We all gathered at Grandpa's house over Fourth of July. Hubert's half brothers from New Mexico and California came up and it was really fun to all be together. My favorite part was probably the Minute-To-Win-It games. They were a hoot. I had more pictures but I just couldn't post them all. My favorite was the adults pulling Kleenexes out of a Kleenex box one-handed. THere was a lot of shoving going on as Kleenex boxes started sliding across the table and Kleenexes were flying everywhere! My reduce, reuse, recycle came into play as I gathered them all up afterwards. People really thought that was a crazy idea! I have a year's supply of Kleenex now! Some other highlights of the weekend included a treasure hunt for the kids, water balloon fight, face painting, horse rides, shooting a potato gun....there were so many!

I haven't been blogging because we've been too busy getting our summer on! The last few weeks have flown by with one trip after the next. I'll try to recap, but this is probably going to be brief, as there is too much to share. The end of June we traveled back to one of our favorite places, Corvallis, to visit Amy and Phillip, baby Milo, and the cousins. We had so much fun with them and visiting their adorable little home. Baby Milo is a cutie!
