Okay Mom, this post is for you. I thought you might like to know that we [finally] finished that hutch. Good grief that took forever. This is a "vintage" hutch that I got off of Craigs list. It must be something like 100 years old. It's rustic okay. I like rustic. The wood still had fire stains on it from when people cooked on wood stoves. It's not perfect, I know. But here are my befores and afters. I painted this ol' thing in Miss Mustard Seed milk paint, color is Typewriter. It took a while. First, you paint it. Then you rub this beeswax furniture polish all over it. Then, you finish it off with some hemp oil. The vintage, crackly look takes a while. Anyways, I like it. The hubby, he hates it. Nothing is square about it and that drove the engineer in him nuts. I like it because it hides all my pots and pans.
