Happy Easter

Goobie said this was her "favorite bunny"

We couldn't have asked for a better weekend in La Grande. Saturday was gloriously sunny and over 60 degrees. We went to 2 egg hunts, one at a friend's farm where they had chickens, pigs, cows, dogs, horses, a bonfire, scored a new trampoline, AND decorated eggs. The kids made so many good memories. Sunday was a great day at church and I feel so filled with the joy of Easter. Monday is here now and it is raining and cold, so we got lucky! Twinkle Toes had such a great weekend she wasn't ready to go back to school today.

we went down to the river, it was a beautiful day in La Grande

Goobie hunting eggs at a friend's farm, Twinkle Toes filled her basket and then gave them all away to other kids who didn't get as much (but she DID keep all the eggs with money in them) . Smart girl.

the kids hunted for eggs at Riverside Park, Grace got more eggs than her older siblings!

Goobie picked up an egg and then she would look back at us with her hand in her mouth, we yelled "go get another egg". She finally caught on and filled her basket.

later in the day we got a "free" trampoline from a friend who was moving and couldn't take it with them. We are so excited to get it and the kids LOVED it! It does need some repairs so we are going to have to get a few things fixed. I think this will be a blast this summer. We won't show you a picture of the whole side that is missing springs! Luckily, our kids are light! Right now, they are to avoid that side (are we crazy or what?) At least it was free!

then it was on to egg dyeing, man could we pack a little more into one day or what?

we made the kids wait until after church and Sunday lunch until they could open their Easter baskets, they were pretty good about it, surprisingly!

Grace looking in her basket with help from Twinkle Toes

the kids dressed up for church, Mackenzie wore Miss Madison's dress and we color coordinated everyone else around it to honor her.

A Big Girl Bed

This last weekend was a milestone for Grace as we moved her into the big bed with Caleb (they share a queen size!) AND we took away the pacifier (only at nighttime though, she still gets it for her naps). She really has done well and only cried about the pacifier pretty much the first night, which she pretty much wimpered most of the night, but now she is fine. It is SO Much better though. She would wake up almost every night screaming because she dropped her pacifier out of her crib and so one of us would have to run down there at least once a night to retrieve it. No more of that. She was a total chatterbox the first few nights in bed with Sweet Boy and kept him awake some but that seems to be settling down. It seems we are gearing up for our new addition.

This last weekend was about 60 degrees on Saturday and absolutely gorgeous sunny. I ran in a small fun walk/run downtown. It was called a stroll but a few ladies I know were interval running so I did a little bit with them and it was fun. Then we got to go around to all the downtown businesses and retrieve "stickers" and they were giving out free snacks, coupons. It was total fun. I had lunch downtown and did a little shopping for a certain little girl's birthday coming up.

Oh, my couponing. Well, my month is almost up and so far I have saved $268 dollars. So I guess it is paying off! This month I have spent the same amount on my groceries, but I am getting MORE for my money. I'm working on my stockpile and buying stuff when it is on sale, so I have spent about the same this month as I normally do but I have a ton more food. Saving money is totally addictive. My biggest buy was I got 8 boxes of cereal for $9 PLUS 2 free gallons of milk (worth roughly $6) AND a rebate for $10. So basically it was all free plus free milk. NOT BAD. The $268 isn't all from manufacturers coupons. It includes store coupons too. So what I am learning is that you watch the store sales, use their coupons when an item goes on sale, match it with a manufacturers' coupon, and DOUBLE that with a doubler and boy, you can save some money!

We had some water damage in one of our bathrooms. The tile shower was cracking and leaking, so we called our landlords and they are great. They said they would fix it and so the end result is we are getting a whole new bathroom. So this week I have had contractors in my house all week. They ripped out the tile shower, the wall, the floor, the comode. We are getting a new shower, a new wall, new flooring, new paint, pretty much a whole new bathroom! I'll post some pics of that when it is done, hopefully SOON! The only bad part is this is Hubert's bathroom, so HE is pretty much getting a whole new bathroom!

Twinkle Toes got all 30 spelling words right on her spell-a-thon, thanks Nana for sponsering her! I think she really missed one word ("people") but I'm pretty sure the teacher let her correct it. It was a fundraiser after all.....

I think I am finally getting over the nausea, sick stage of pregnancy which is super nice. I hate that part! Although I am still tired a lot and sometimes have to hit the sack at 8:30/9:00, which drives the hubby crazy! What can I say, he does not get it, how pregnancy makes you feel. I think we are going to have the baby in Boise, Idaho, which logistically is going to make things a little harder so for any of our Boise friends, we hope to see you when the baby is born! Hopefully we don't end up with a "carbirth" instead of a homebirth. ha.

Twinkle Toes is back in swimming again. We moved her up to Level 3 and they are finally actually doing some "swimming." I am hoping I can get at least one of my kids to learn how before the summer. She is close but not actually swimming yet. We'll see! Sweet Boy is going to do soccer this summer. After enduring several seasons of that with Twinkle Toes, we decided to give Sweet Boy a shot at it now that he is 5. Apparently, running is just not Twinkle Toes' "thang" so we are not putting her back in. Twinkle Toes can stick with dance. She has a recital performance coming up next month.

And lastly, thanks for the commentson the blog! I appreciate that!
